S.Z. Putnam is a Hmong American writer from Wisconsin. Her poetry is composed from life experiences revolving around love, trauma, grief, hope and healing.
S.Z. has had a love affair of writing her entire life and was always consuming works of literature in her youth. She continued writing short stories and essays in college and thrived while expressing herself through her words. After mid-life trauma in her personal life, she stopped writing and only recently resumed; this time with poetry. She has found poetry to be an effective tool in processing her life and becoming a poet has helped her navigate her healing journey.
To balance her powerfully emotional poetry, S.Z. spends a great deal of time creating stories for her three imaginative children. Her first children's book, Baby Elephant and the Magical Shoes, is set to be published in the summer of 2025.
S.Z. also pens as Ess or E.Z. Putnam (formerly @esszputnam) on Instagram and Facebook. Please follow, like and share in her growth.
